NDIS and psychology
NDIS and psychology
Many people who live with a disability seek out
psychological therapy to help them control their behavior, develop and
strengthen relationships, and acquire a range of coping methods.
There are many types of psychology services available,
not just those for those with mental illnesses.
Does the NDIS include psychology?
For people who have been diagnosed with psychosocial
disability, the NDIS Psychologist Yeronga offers cash and support.
Psychology services can help with everyday life skills
for problems that aren't considered psychosocial. For instance, a person with
an autism spectrum condition might have psychological therapies included in
their plan to aid in developing social skills or
behavioral control methods.
Suppose your NDIS Psychology
Yeronga plan includes the "Improved Daily Living Skills"
assistance category, which is included under the Capacity Building portion of
an NDIS plan. In that case, psychology services are supported by the NDIS.
To obtain psychology services, you should have this,
and those services must also be in line with the objectives specified in your
plan.
NDIS Approved Psychologists
The NDIS classifies registered psychologists as
"authorized" providers. You can select any psychologist you want to
work with if you handle your NDIS plan independently. You are not required to
use an approved provider to get psychology services.
You must, however, go through a certified NDIS
provider to get psychology services if your plan is NDIS-managed.
You might need to visit a psychologist for a diagnosis
before you can use the NDIS.
A formal psychological diagnosis is not always required. However, applying for NDIS funding for psychological or mental health issues can be very helpful.
